Arora the Noodle Dragon

2021
82 cm (32") long
Commissioned work

Arora is a one of a kind wyrm dragon with a polymer clay head and a poseable plush body. Her horns are made from mostly Cernit, which is an especially tough and flexible polymer clay. Since this dragon doesn't have legs for balance, I felt it was important to make the head as sturdy as I could, lest she fall on her face and break.

Arora’s coat is made up of 17 pieces of faux fur, all hand sewn. This creature was supposed to be simpler than usual (hence the legless design), but I was more than a bit overly ambitious with the fur design, and it took a very long time to sew.
