Lychee Mosspig

2021
10.25cm (4") tall

Mosspigs are tiny, playful creatures. They are typically brightly colored, contrasting acutely with the environment. Although they are very quick on their little feet (and known to go even faster downhill just by rolling) they are usually very easy for a potential predator to spot - but, like many colorful insects and frogs, Mosspigs are poisonous. What is the nature of their poison, you might wonder? Capsaicin. Mosspigs are VERY spicy. They themselves are immune to the chemical, and will eat even the hottest of peppers with impunity. They are also unbothered by the strong flavors of plants in the onion/garlic family and will often consume wild ramps and chives, which gives them (temporarily) an even more intimidating flavor.

Mosspigs have resin cast faces and legs, and sturdy polymer clay antennae. Their bodies are plush with a coat of soft synthetic fur. The base of the legs are wired together within the body, allowing the legs to be posed in any direction. The antennae are also attached to the face with wire, and they have a limited range of movement.
